Long time no see!

Hello one and all!

You may be wondering why we've been so quiet, have we stopped development? No way! We're being very quiet at the moment basically because we're working on something very top secret concerning ZDay, all shall be revealed in the up coming 5th teaser video, we won't say anything about it at the moment, nor will we mention anything in the next teaser it's up to you lot to watch and spot what I'm talking about. Excited? You better be!

First ZDay test!!

So we finally released the Pre-Alpha 0.1 to the testers last night, apart from a few minor problems everything was a-okay! We will hopefully be having a large scale test with most if not all testers and developers online, we shall document our fun and hard work in the format of screenshots ;). We may also make a new trailer for you guys!

Stay tuned, we're still accepting a couple more tester applications, then we won't be accepting any more for the coming weeks. So get your application in!

PS. The broken infected teaser video will be fixed shortly.

ZDay Teaser #2!!!

Myself Chris and Dec were having bundles of fun all night on ZDay!! We've filmed a short teaser of us running from the infected and then being cornered. The infected have been edited out and deliberately not filmed, that's another surprise for you all in the coming time! Sorry, hehe.

Update on recent events

Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the forum situation at the moment. Last week, whilst uploading our current 150mb+ directory of the files required by every developer to download and progress, we managed to exceed our 1000mb disk space limit. Because of this, certain things started to malfunction, including the forums. We have no idea what the problem is and have only managed to save a Read Only copy of the forums, which I'll talk about in a minute.

Braveheart is the only one who has the required MySQL database details we have to input to try and get a new forum set up. I’ve done the nitty gritty dirty work to get the backups of all users and posts from this one, but to install the new forum, I require Brave's details. Now here's the problem. Braveheart has disappeared over the past week and I haven’t managed to get in contact with him. For this reason, I have put up the read only forum for you all to use for looking up information in the mean time. This is particularly useful for new users who wish to gain more information on the progress of ZDay. I know how it must feel not being able to post your thoughts or ideas, but please bear with us and we will hopefully have the forums up and running in a few days.

Onto happier news, we have just upgraded our web host. So we have a lot more disk space to use, and double the bandwidth limit, meaning we won't be reaching 95+% usage each month! In terms of Development, we are nearing our Pre-Alpha release each and every day. A whole batch of new models were landed upon me from Chris yesterday and the map is coming along well. And in case you are wondering why we haven't released any screenshots recently - it's because we are saving them for a handy little collection to present to you all in a week or so! So there's something for you all to look forward to.

Away from the development of ZDay, there's also a lot of background paperwork (metaphorically speaking) and an endless amount of people to get in contact with. Being the only Developer here who does not model, our modelling phase means I get landed with this particular work! We have had loads of emails from you all in the past few weeks which have all got to be replied to. Trust me, my inbox is filling up fast! Thank you to those who notified us of the forum problem and to those who are showing their support for ZDay. Not so much thanks for those who email us asking when the game will be released, as this just means more work for me to answer you with an answer similar to one given when asked what the meaning of life is - We don't know! We are still looking for new testers but please DON’T apply if you are going to send in one-sentenced answers. We would like someone who has clearly put effort into his or her application. I look forward to receiving your applications. Away from fan contact, I’ve been in numerous talks with various sound technicians and organic modellers, so fingers crossed we will have some more news on that soon.

So write those ideas you have down safe, ready for when the forums come back up! I'll be looking forward to having a meeting with Goreguzzle soon and will hopefully get some more inside info out to you lot out there.
